Electricity from the Sun

The Photovoltaic plants use the solar energy to produce electrical power, without moving parts or external sources. This reliable method of yearly energy production creates no waste and requires very little maintenance.

Up to 2012there were no more than 100GW of photovoltaic plants installed worldwide. Of these 100 GW plants, 70 GW were located in Europe. According to the EPIA, it is forecasted that more than 30GW photovoltaic plants will be installed within a year, of them only 17 GW will be in Europe. The strong increase in development all around the world is possibly due to local incentives that have resulted in sector growth, benefiting both users and the environment.

    Photovoltaic plants are based on a simple, solid and reliable technology; it’s not a coincidence that they have always been used as the prime energy source on satellites in space. Today they are cheaper than ever and are thus more profitable for both humans and the environment.
    The first requirement is the installation location of the photovoltaic modules, which is generally best on the ground or on rooftop buildings. Optimal orientation is usually East-South-West, or on flat location that is exposed to lots of lighting. The inverters and electrical panels take up a small space for residential plants.. For industrial plants, which are larger, a technical room is necessary, and/or an electrical substation for connection in high voltage (generally for plants over 200 kW).
    Photovoltaic plant is a complete electrical system without mechanical moving parts, thus it is solid and reliable by its nature, and needs little maintenance effort such as periodic check of parts and washing of FV modules with frequency according to the specific context. The constant monitoring of the state and production ensures the immediate catch of the alarms and alerts, allowing fast action to restore the optimal operation.
